1. Konkan Railway: A Feat of Engineering Genius

As the Managing Director of Konkan Railway, Sreedharan led one of India’s most challenging railway projects. The 740 km railway line, built through difficult terrain, was completed within record time, showcasing his leadership and engineering acumen.

2. Delhi Metro: Transforming Urban Transport

His most celebrated contribution is the Delhi Metro, where he served as the Managing Director of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). The project was executed efficiently, within budget, and with international standards—setting a precedent for urban infrastructure development in India.
